Mrs. Slocum

Who I am and What I do:
Mrs. Slocum, Kindergarten Teacher

Why I work here:
I always knew I wanted to be a teacher and I love teaching kindergarten!  I find joy in helping my students build strong foundations and grow a   love of learning!

What I do when I’m not at school:
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, going for walks with friends, crafting and baking.

Some of my favorite things:
I love my family, the colors blue and yellow, sunflowers, and ice cream!

Education and Experience:
I graduated from SUNY Geneseo with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a concentration in reading and I earned my Master’s degree from Buffalo State College.  Most of my career has been at the pre-k level.  I have taught for the Rochester City School District (the Rochester Preschool Parent Program), Wayland- Cohocton, and the Honeoye Cooperative Nursery School.  In 2021, I taught Kindergarten for Bloomfield Central School as a long-term substitute.  I taught Pre-k 4 and kindergarten at Saint Kater School in Rochester from September 2021- June 2023.  I am excited to be teaching for St. Agnes!
